Fundacion Camino

Your family is my family too

There are certain realities that we can only truly understand when we experience them. Our foundation arose from the experience of having a child with cancer.
This challenge began with the story “of Verito”.

Your family is my family too

Our Foundation

Fundación Camino is a private, not-for-profit organization, incorporated in 2013, that takes care of children and young people and their mothers, from regions and of limited economic resources, to provide them a better quality of life while they undergo treatment in Santiago. In the first stage of our project, we will begin building an Accommodation Center for children and young people with cancer, which will open soon.

Cancer is a disease that has a profound effect, both physically and psychologically on those who suffer from it, and a huge impact on the whole family group, as well as significant economic costs. Its effects are even more devastating when such children or young people have to travel far from home for long treatments. That is why Fundación Camino plans to build an Accommodation Center to provide young cancer patients and their mothers accommodation free of cost, improving their quality of life and that of their families by providing them with somewhere to stay close to hospitals. Our project includes a 5-floor building with approximately 1,200 square meters of built space, ensuring the highest standards, not only guaranteeing the comfort of these children, and teenager people and their mothers, but also providing for all the hygiene and accessibility needs that patients undergoing cancer treatment require.

To create a “home” that will give a better quality of life to children and teenager of limited economic resources, who are suffering from cancer and has to travel from regions, with their mothers, to get treatment in Santiago.

To become a foundation that is recognized for supporting the treatment of and recovery from child and youth cancer throughout Chile, by building accommodation centers that will provide a place to stay for children from regions and their mothers so that patients can be accompanied during their treatment.

Inclusion, equality, transparency and self-improvement.
